Addiction Therapy Services opened its doors in early 2014, born out of a simple but urgent conviction: that people struggling with opioid and alcohol addiction in Central Ohio deserved real, evidence-based treatment without shame attached to it. As the opioid crisis tightened its grip on communities across Ohio, we watched too many people fall through the cracks, judged, turned away, or unable to find help that actually worked. Our founding vision was to build a place where medication-assisted treatment and genuine human compassion lived under the same roof, where someone could walk in on their hardest day and be met with dignity instead of judgment.

Our ultimate mission is to break the stigma around addiction and prove that recovery is possible for anyone willing to take the first step. We treat the whole person, not just the dependency. Beyond prescriptions and appointments, we want to give people their lives back: their families, their jobs, and their sense of self. Every person who rebuilds a stable, healthy life is our mission in action.

We believe addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failing, and we treat it that way. Our philosophy pairs proven medication like buprenorphine (Suboxone) and the once-monthly Sublocade injection with the counseling and support that make recovery last. Care is individualized, because no two people arrive with the same story, and it is completely confidential, private start to finish. Trust is the foundation everything else is built on.

Our medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program is what truly sets us apart. We offer both daily oral buprenorphine (Suboxone) and the once-monthly Sublocade injection, so treatment can be tailored to each person’s life and preferences, and we integrate that medication with behavioral counseling for a genuine whole-person approach. 

We lead with respect. Many of our patients have been treated poorly by the healthcare system before they reach us, so we work hard to make the experience feel human. We listen first, we never lecture, and we meet people exactly where they are. Appointments are built around real life, and our team stays flexible, adjusting medication and support as each person’s recovery evolves.

Every day is a mix of the routine and the deeply human. Our team handles intakes, medication management, counseling check-ins, and follow-ups, but woven through all of it are the moments that remind us why we do this: a patient hitting a milestone, someone reconnecting with their kids, a person who walked in terrified now walking out with hope. No two days are identical, and that is part of what keeps the work meaningful.
